Digital mobility budget: MaaS pioneer moovel helps companies make employee mobility more flexible

  • Employees can book and pay for various mobility options via an app
  • Pilot project launched for more than 3,000 Daimler Financial Services employees in Germany
  • The "Mobility Budget" provides a sustainable mobility solution

Stuttgart - The moovel Group GmbH has launched an app-based mobility budget for more than 3,000 Daimler Financial Services employees in Germany: The ”Mobility Budget" includes a credit, which employees can use according to their personal preferences and book and pay for various mobility services using moovel's multimodal apps. The services include bus and train, the car sharing services car2go and DriveNow, the ridehailing service mytaxi and rental bikes. All offers can be booked and paid for directly via moovel apps - depending on availability in the respective city.

The mobility budget enables employees to commute each day without using their own cars. The new app-based service can be used in the cities of Stuttgart, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe and Aschaffenburg. The credit is automatically made available via the moovel apps on a virtual user account and is available to Daimler Financial Services employees for the entire month, including for private use.

"More and more companies want to offer their employees solutions that go beyond a company car and rely on the flexibility of Mobility-as-a-Service. And unlike a company ticket, our offer can be used for different means of transport," says Daniela Gerd tom Markotten, CEO moovel Group GmbH. "The mobility budget is a convenient way for employers to provide employees with a wide range of transportation options to meet their travel needs. We’ve received a lot of interest from companies to test out this new sustainable mobility solution.”
