Aschaffenburg/Stuttgart, 12.19.2017. The Aschaffenburg municipal utilities company and the moovel Group today launch the “STWAB Ticket” app onto the market. The app, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, provides information on timetables and can be used to buy tickets for the buses of the Aschaffenburg municipal utilities company (Stadtwerke Aschaffenburg STWAB).
Buy digital tickets quickly and easily. From today on, the Aschaffenburg municipal utilities company and the moovel Group together offer an app which provides information on bus connections and also allows the purchase of digital tickets. In addition, the “STWAB Ticket” app also locates the user and suggests the best available connections. Alternatively, the user can enter a chosen starting point and destination on the start screen. If the user then chooses a bus connection, a digital ticket for this journey can be purchased with just a few clicks. The digital ticket will be controlled when entering the bus in the same way as a paper ticket. Payment can be made by PayPal or credit card, the details for which are entered by the user during the registration process. Single and day tickets for adults and children are available, as well as day tickets for up to five people and also three-day tickets.
Dieter Gerlach, Managing Director of the Stadtwerke Aschaffenburg said: “This is another step for our public transport services towards digital offers, in order to make public transport even more attractive, especially for younger customers.”
The digital app has been developed by the moovel Group GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of the Daimler AG. The mobility company has set itself the goal of simplifying urban mobility. The “STWAB Ticket” app is based on the moovel transit product portfolio, which enables transport associations and companies to offer mobile tickets by app in their own name and corporate design. The moovel transit solutions also make it possible to integrate additional mobility services, such as carsharing and rental bicycles, into the app. After Karlsruhe, Aschaffenburg is the second city in Germany to make use of the moovel transit product portfolio. In the USA, moovel North America, with moovel transit, is the market leader in mobile ticketing solutions for transport associations.
