Always nearby and easy to rent and go, it’s easy to see why the streets are abuzz with the new e-scooters around Germany (even if you’re not a fan).
Well, now you can rent TIER e-scooters in the REACH NOW app. They’re perfect for quick trips to the store or even your commute. They’re more accessible and easier to ride if you can’t ride a bike. On top of that, they can be downright fun to ride.
Here’s everything you need to know to get started and take your first ride.
How much does TIER cost?
TIER costs €1 to unlock the e-scooter and then 15 cents for each minute used.
How do I book?
- First, swipe and then tap the TIER button on the navigation bar below the search bar.
- Select the closest TIER on the map and walk to it.
- Find the e-scooter and make sure the number matches.
- Rent and use the right go button to accelerate.
How do I ride and brake?
To brake your e-scooter, use the left handbrake. Only older models let you use the footbrake.
The green button on the right handlebar is your accelerator. You can see how fast you’re going on the display in the middle.
Where can I ride?
It’s just like riding a bike: use bike lanes or stay on the right of the road. Don’t ride on pedestrian walkways. You’ll get annoyed, they’ll get annoyed; it’s better for everyone. :)
How do I end my rental?
Make sure you’re still in the green operating area. To check, open the map on your phone.
You are? Good, now make sure you’re also not in a no-parking zone. These are marked red. Then, find a spot that’s away from pedestrians and put the kickstand down. End the rental in your app’s Bookings section. You’re done.
Do I need a driver’s license?
No license required. All you need to do is use your REACH NOW app to book.
How fast can I go?
Your scooter’s speed is limited to 20 kilometers per hour. In red areas outside the operating area, your scooter can only go 5 kilometers per hour.
What do I do if my scooter isn’t starting?
You have to kick off before starting. Otherwise, the accelerator won’t function. If it still isn’t working, try giving TIER support a call.
If you have any more questions, head over to our Support Center. Enjoy your ride!
